Here is where we will share with you some great things that have been happening. Not only will we share our lovely weddings and portrait sessions, we will also share some blog posts that are going to make you laugh and hopefully say, "I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that...". We hope you enjoy!
We had such an amazing time shooting Lori and Chase’s The Lismore Wedding in Eau Claire, WI.
Early in the day, the tears were rolling and hands were clammy. Chase’s nerves had him stuffing his pockets with napkins just so he could soak up the sweat. Lori started the day strong (and maybe a bit tired from the night before), but she got emotional after a very thoughtful and sweet letter and box filled with memories and future plans from her soon-to-be husband. It was a nerve-filled and tear-filled morning.
The ceremony and social hour went off without a hitch and everyone found their groove by the time the speeches began. The Father of the Bride, Ron, stole the show with his speech. He had everyone was laughing, crying, and maybe a little bit of both. We have never witnessed such belly laughs, coming from each and every table. The proud father grabbed the microphone tightly and began talking about his youngest daughter, Lori. You know what everyone says about the second child? Well, Ron showed that this was really a true thing. He explained Lori’s grades in school, driving habits, and her natural talents (the 3-point record). He even explained Lori’s talent as an angler, and saving the fish, in a plastic baggie in her room, long enough to get Nancy (her mother’s) nose arise!
As the speeches continued, we learned about Lori’s outspoken and boisterous personality. As Ron, and many others explained how quiet Chase is, it became clear that opposites do attract. The first time officially hanging out with Ron, Chase and him shared few words and kept it silent for the remainder of the hours spent together. They were both okay with this. I think Chase appreciated the fact that he didn’t have to say, “Ron, just put on the breaks and stop talking.” Chase was quickly welcomed into the family, as was Lori into her new family, filled with loving sisters.
From the first time we met Lori and Chase, Lori’s main concern was that everyone around her was having fun and doing okay. We agree with her dad when he said, throughout high school, Lori put everyone else in front of herself, which is maybe why she didn’t put her full effort into basketball, horse shows, etc. Just like Lori’s older sister, Kari, said, We can see why Lori’s face (and Chase’s for that matter) lights up when they are around one another.
We hope that you two always act like kids, have races (and Lori, make sure you take the shortcut if you can) and make each other laugh until your bellies hurt. We want you to know how young you make everyone around you feel and how you not only light up each other’s faces, but everyone’s when you two are together.
We had so much fun on your wedding day. We enjoyed all the laughter, the faces Lori made, and Chase’s thoughtfulness and efficiency.
