Everyone wants to look there best in photos! Do you ever wish your arms looked slimmer or legs looked skinnier? We are here to help with our tips on how to look your best in photos!
In our experience, every client regardless of her shape has an area of her body that she is self-conscious about, so recognizing what area that is in advance can be important. Even if it is as simple as mentioning to your photographer that you have “a good side” or you don’t like your toes. Little things like that can help your photographer focus on what is most important to you. Choosing flattering silhouettes and colors that complement your natural features are also the best way to ensure you’ll love the way you look in your photos.
What are your biggest areas of concern?
ARMS: 3/4 length sleeves can help create an awesome slimming effect on arms, so keep in mind longer sleeves if your arms are something you are conscious of. Another pointer when trying to add a slimming effect on your arms is pulling your arm away from your body while posing, this way it doesn’t look squished up against your body. That can sometimes make your arms look bigger than they are.
LEGS: Heels elongate women’s legs making them look fabulous. Closed-toed heels, in particular, look great on camera because they carry out the line of your leg all the way down to your toe. If your toes are showing in a peep-toe heel, you might want to make sure your nails are painted or done how you like them. Also, darker pants and jeans help slim down legs. Even better, wear a longer dress and it covers them up altogether! Posing can make a world of a difference, too. Don’t worry, we teach you the best way to flatter your body.
WAIST: If you can find a shirt or dress that cinches higher at the waist, this can help have a slimming effect on your waistline. Be aware if you wear something that is super flowy, especially a top, this can make you look wider on camera than you are. Also, if you are wearing pants, higher-waisted pants have a more slimming effect on your waistline, too.
We know these aren’t the only three areas of concern. Everyone has their own specific area. It is important to try and remember to take the time to mention it to your photographer, so they can be ready to go when the session time comes. We are the experts in posing, which means, we know how to place your arms, legs, feet, how to turn your torso, etc. to flatter you in the best way possible. You don’t want to look at your photo gallery when you get it back, picking apart your areas of concern when you/we could have prevented it in the first place. We want you to feel beautiful and confident, so what you wear can make the world of a difference. Sometimes, it is something you have in your closet that you take out all of the time to wear because when it comes down to it, this is what you feel most comfortable wearing, which then brings the confidence to your photos. We hope these tips on how to look your best in photos were helpful!
