Enger Tower Wedding in Duluth, MN

From the moment we met Sam and Ben, we knew they were going to be a fun couple to work with.  After their engagement session, we realized they were a perfect fit for us.  Sam and Ben are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people we have ever met.  They both have contagious smiles, especially when you catch them looking at each other.  Sam’s laugh is infectious, and when you combine it with Ben’s kind spirit and the way they look at each other, it is all we could ever ask for. We adored how Ben said “she looks really good” as Sam walked down the aisle. He also rocked the big hugs to all of his guests after the ceremony.  As for Sam, we couldn’t ask for a more laid back and go-with-the-flow bride.  We could tell that Sam had a big heart for Ben and all of her guests who came to celebrate her big day.  She shed a few tears. :-).

Sam and Ben were such good sports about standing in the nearly 90-degree heat to get photos for us.  They didn’t even think twice when we kept coming up with more and more ideas out in the hot weather.  On a day that was supposed to be all about them, they spent their day caring about everyone else, making us and everyone around them feel comfortable and appreciated.

We really loved how Sam and Ben had little details about their day to make it 100% them!  Sam and one of her good friends, Amber, made ALL of the cupcakes AND the adorable cake for the reception.  Sam had Ben’s Air Force patch, with his last name (now hers, too!), sewed inside her wedding dress.  Speaking of her wedding dress, we were pretty obsessed.  Her dress was customized just for her.  It was the top from one and the bottom from another.  We had a little envy of how lovely it was.  They also had Ben’s Aunt Nancy as the officiant, who put a couple of super unique and special twists into the day.  Being that Ben has some Lithuanian in him, she decided to bring that special touch to the ceremony and reception.  We loved the cake she had made, except for the fact that when Ben was cutting it up for everyone to enjoy, he ended up cutting himself.  Good thing he had his medically trained wife to help him out.

Sam and Ben, thank you so much for reminding us why we absolutely love photographing weddings.  You make us extremely excited for the upcoming wedding season!  Also, thank you for the amazing country music and drink selections.  It made us feel at home. 🙂

Xoxo, Erin & Emily
